For this project, I designed a podcast cover for Radiolab, a show known for exploring science, philosophy, and the human experience through innovative storytelling and sound design. To visually connect with the show’s identity, I incorporated sound waves as the central graphic element and paired them with the podcast title and host information within a 3000x3000 layout.
I used Illustrator’s Generate Vectors tool to create a question mark formed from uneven sound wave segments, applying the Gestalt principle of closure. Even though the waves do not form a complete outline, the viewer’s mind naturally fills in the missing shape. This approach allowed me to bring both Gestalt theory and generative AI into the design in a way that supports the theme and reinforces Radiolab’s curious, inquiry-driven tone.
